(The legatees in "Soldiers Effects" were his father John, and mother Ellen. In the 1911 Census, the family were living at 19 Larkhill Square, Stockton-on-Tees. Frederick was then 22 years old and working as a shop assistant.
It is assumed that he emigrated to Canada soon afterwards, but returned in order to fight in the war.)
